Okay, I'll go for it. StasUA has a point. Does anyone else get bothered by the fact that very little news seems to come out of Ukraine in the world press? Like, every now and then something about Ukraine is in the New York Times, but it'll be datelined Moscow, not Kiev. LIke that's the center of the universe. Let's trade some good gossip. By, for and about Ukraine and Ukrainians. Anybody know anything?

Well I know that Kuchma continue to make reforms in Ukraine, he makes Ukraine more democratic. He privatized major factories and companies. I think thats good, and there is a new premier ministr(just in case somebody did not know) His name is Yushenko. He seems pretty bright(to me).

You could fit what I know about the Ukraine on a pin head. I met a nice girl and became interested, but before that, zilch...

We had Chechnia and the bombings in Moscow on the news, but not a lot else and most of it pretty negative towards Russia. I am sure Ukrainian people here have there own sources but unfortunately the Ukraine is like a different world if the news here is anything to go by.

Plus I had an argument with a Russian girl that our news is very Americanised, which is true depending on what you watch. And I know for a fact that unless you know better WE ALL believe what we hear on the TV - which is why I think this is a good topic.

I agree with Stas that Kuchma makes ukrainian government more democratic, but only if the word democratic comes from the word der'mo. (This was our civil defense teacher's favorite joke about Kuchma and his government).

Thats the way to go Grandma: "We choose Kuchma because all the other candidats are even worse for Ukraine". That's the Christmas spirit.

To Stas.
Is that what kind of president you'll make when you'll grow up, because we kinda started to believe in you, Stas.

WBR, Zhenya.
