Chernobyl Revisited

Is Fukushima's nuclear meltdown being denied by Japanese govt ?

Japanese nuclear reactors are clean energy and built w/all precautions in place, but Mother Nature just didn't care. There is no doubt in my mind that within the next six months, we shall start seeing a cancer bump among Fukushima residents. Will the international community react in the same way that they did to Chernobyl and just keep building more nuclear reactors?

Question From where tomorrow's energy?

The unfolding Fukushima nuclear disaster will certainly give credence to those anti nuclear power campaigners within western Europe who want nuclear power stations to be abolished.
However, without the added energy that those nuclear power stations bring, how will the energy deficit be filled? More polluting coal powered generators?
Can we allow ourselves to be utterly dependant on Putin's Russia or those increasingly unstable oil supplying Arabian countries? What a dilemma!

The only remaining answer can be the mass production of solar panels fitted to houses and commercial buildings, coupled with as much tidal sea or river turbine energy as is feasable. I read that wind turbines are not so efficient compared with the production and maintenace cost.
Modern living living is clearly the creator of its own demise.

Oil and the corporations that control it rule the world, it's sad to say. They're going to spin nuclear power as unsafe just so they can fatten their own wallets. I'm just afraid there's going to be an increase in this ethanol production causing our fields to go fallow and our food prices to go up while our cars break down due to the corrosion. I'd rather glow in the dark rather than gag on pollution.
