Chernobyl disaster site is now open for tourism.

When life gives you a historically massive deluge of lemons, what is there to do, but make radioactive lemonade.

What is especially mind-boggling is that the previously built shell around the nuclear reactor is currently leaking radiation and the new protective shell will not be completed until 2015.

Current cost of tour per person, depends on the size of group. Cost on individual basis is $490USD.

I will be in Kyiv next week but I believe I'll forgo that tour! Possibly I'll take in that tour AFTER the new shell is done AND tested.
However I've heard that there in a museum dedicated to this disaster in Kyiv. That I will try to check out!

Until then we're off to the village of Katerinopol for the New Year with our family..

Snovem Godom Everyone!

We're having an absolutely wonderful time here! The best part is making all the Coo Coo sounds to amuse my new grandson!

I'll be doing a small write up about our New Years celebration in a small village. Complete with pictures and fireworks! It lasted til 4am! Lot'sa food dancing and some adult beverages.
