Italian Comic Book About Holodomor

What's On Kiev |

"To some it may seem insensitive..." That’s been too mildly put! This is not only insensitive, it’s insulting! Turning the tragedy of not only Ukrainians but of many other USSR peoples into farcical play and a comic book!! One ought to be jailed for this kind of creation! Moreover the author is not even a Ukrainian but an Italian. You see ‘the story had a great impact on him...’ Actually what can he know about the events of those times?! Only something that he got from a couple of alleged eyewitnesses. But who are the eyewitnesses? Where did he get them? Why them at all? You know it all seems too suspicious...
Frankly speaking I believe these are again dirty trick of our nationalists who try to justify how their predecessors from nationalistic gang they call Ukrainian Insurgent Army cooperated with the fascists, how they killed many thousands of Jews, Ukrainians, Poles and so on. IMHO they’re just like a bone in the throat! It’s time for them to quiet down and realize that no one accept their excuses and justifications. Old sins cast long shadows, don’t they?

This post by far is disgusting especially where this person lays blame " the Ukrainian Nationalists"

Well, IMHO, you need to keep shut. You come here to fill propaganda and nobody really cares because you have lost your reputation on this forum with the first post you made.

You are throwing out lies spread by Russia. First of all, you are speaking of a time when people were fighting for their freedom. Naturally, when trying to declare independence from the USSR and neighboring Hitler, people may have to die here and there. Oddly enough, people such as yourself still honor opinions of Russia, more importantly their leader. Do we forget how many Ukrainians died during Holodomor? Check my signature. And people such as yourself listen to the EU parliament. Do we also forget that German people are the one's who tortured Jews and killed them? We forget about them because they pretend to be different, and instead shed light on us, Ukrainians, and the little history that we can actually hold on to. Each nation has a dark past. Each nation had to kill for their freedom. But, we must question their intentions. For German's, their intentions were to prosper at the sake of Jews. For Russians (roughly speaking), their intentions were to prosper at the sake of Ukrainians. For Ukrainians, they just wanted to have their own free land. They just wanted to be free.

Actually I think it is time to look forward and not backward.. the past shapes the future but shouldn`t control it!!! the past has happened... the future hasn`t so lets try and shape an acceptable future based on our experience...

I agree with that to some extent. However I believe history is important whether good or bad and should be used in modern context or conversation.

Yes. This wouldn't have been a problem if the British and French after WWI would have let us have our own nation instead of being divided between Poland and Russia.
