This is a step backwards to cold war thinking... I think the west must accept some responsibility for this.

Another "defensive" measure is Russia’s right to send troops abroad to protect its “national interests or its citizens.”

This could prove to be a problem. There is russians in every former republic. Not only that if Russia invaded Ukraine, the east wouldnt do anything but surrender. They would be happy just to join with Russia.

I call for Western Ukraine to break off from the rest of Ukraine. kyiv is lost

Yup, I head about this a while ago.

Basically every nation is screwed because now they have a reason to invade. (presuming every nation has a Russian in it)

This is basicly a copy of any other defense doctrine in Europe and the USRael. Is there a LEGIT reason not to allow RF same thing as every other state?... british demagog.....

Why should Western Ukraine break off from the east. History tells us that Stalin created the Holodomor and then filled in the empty areas with Russians. The Russians are displaced people there. They do not belong there. They have no right to be there. Send them back to their Motherland that they are so attached to and leave Ukraine to Ukranian people. Problem...Russian thinks they have put their noses in others business. Amazingly their Tzarist ambitions started with Catherine the Great, who was German!!!
