I am glad you joined the forum, Legal Support, this is useful information!

What is your real name? It seems odd to call you "leagal"

I am Volodya BTW.

No, on the contrary, your English is good, we seem to have no problem communicating.

This forum will help of course, bit it isn't nearly as active as it used to be.

Feel free to post stuff and people will reply.

Cheers.

The question should not be whether or not it is the right thing for Ukraine to have opened its borders to EU citizens without Visas. The question should be where would a new Visa requirement lead to?

As mentioned in previous posts before. The number of travellers from the EU visiting Ukraine has increased by 50% since it was introduced that they could enter Ukraine without a Visa.

I wonder will this number decrease should Ukraine decide to reinforce its Visa regime? I have read an interesting article in which it was said that Ukrainians have to pay almost unaffordable sums of money for visa applications to EU embassies only to have their applications rejected. So Ukrainian officials have asked why they should not have the same "income stream" from EU travellers.

What they have not mentioned or even thought about it is that the money these travellers bring in to country to spend stands in no comparison to the maybe 50 Euro or 40 Pound fees they would have to pay for a Visa.
Especially in times like these (and lets face it Ukraine has been hit very hard by the crisis) should the Ukrainian government not do more to get people in to the country instead of imposing hurdles to keep them out?

I think that re-introducing Visas for EU travellers will set Ukraine back and I doubt that it will change anything on the EU stand of Visa regulations for Ukrainians trying to enter Ukraine

For my consideration, Vias regime will not change the situation substantially. As for me, 30-40$ is not a big price for entering into Ukraine. But for budget it's a great contribution (taking into consideration Euro-2012). If you have money for entrance into Ukraine you are interesting if no, why Ukraine should be a shelter for beggars.
