Pirates take ukrainian ship

Somali pirates took a ukrainian ship full of weapons. they were headed to mobassa kenya for weapons delivery to that country. apparently the caputured ship is surrounded by three war ships with another ship from Russia on the way. The pirates want $20 million in turn for the prisoners.

The Ukrainian ministry said the ship is carrying 33 Soviet-made T-72 tanks, tank artillery shells, grenade launchers and small arms. Ukraine sold the weapons to Kenya, said Ukraine Defense Minister Yuri Yekhanurov, according to the Interfax-Ukraine news agency.

yeah you would think that these boats would at least keep an arms locker for stuff that happens like this. I mean if the boat was coming from Ukraine it shouldnt be hard to get a permit for a bunch of automatic kalashnikovs. The pirates are armed with small arms anyways and are in skids with motors on them. i dont think it would be that hard to hold them off if you have 22 guys armed on one ship.

but that is my opinion.

Pirates today are not what they were before. I'm sure they are armed aswell. We can talk all we want, but i'm sure this was unpreventable (well, unless you knew it was gonna happen).
