Again, I did not just start thinking about this recently after the breakup of the coalition. I started thinking about the chances that someone like Yushchenko will stay in office years later.
Well, now it's years later. Time is running out. Yushchenko has been a great president, but not eveyone seems that. Tymoshenko & Yanukovich have tricked and decieved many people and now people are lost. They don't know what to think. Especially those people who stood with Tymoshenko.
I think that Yushchenko will come out with something big by the end of his term to convince a large number of people, but I think because of his two rivals, it will not be enough.
I will always stand strong with Yuschenko but I doubt most of the country will. So, what do you think is in store next for Ukraine? Everyone turned against Ukraine's only hope.

Yushenko had quite a broad support immediately after the orange revolution, but lost that because he failed to produce any tangible results. Now his approval rates are minimal. I understand polls show that only 1.5% of Ukrainian voters would vote for him now. I disagree Yushenko is Ukraine's only hope. After him, there will there will be another president - and hopefully a better (a more effective) one.
Ukraine will go through a difficult period with the global economic crisis. Ukraine is dependable on its steel industry, which is suffering right now. Lots of people are being laid off at the moment and many more are sent on unpaid leave. Also, the depreciation of the Hryvnia will fuel inflation as Ukraine is an net importing nation.
If handled properly, Ukraine can emerge stronger from this crisis, as did many Asian countries after the 1998 financial crisis. It could probably benefit from a more productive political culture, e.g. from politicians who reach compromises from time to time instead of fighting each other for power (and money) 100% of the time.
