The whole subject could have been used better than in a banal "shoot the zombie" type of game but the atmosphere is unbelievably realistic!

Pcholka, may I ask you... Do you have the game on your PC?

I guess the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is just shooter but may be the most smart ever. I really was shocked how clever my computer played against me... I bet, it's because of embedded "artificial intelligence"

Then the quality of video image is almost same as in DVD movies... I don't think toys of rebellion will achieve such level soon.

And finally, they have "free game" regime... it's excellent. You can just live in Zone with no task, just to do what you want.

I wonder what will the guy write for us when he will get 25 y.o.?

No, I don't but I found some screenshots and they're impressive!
You see, I dislike very much shooting games and all those zombies etc. - not my type at all. But I do like games with impressive landscapes and atmosphere.. But the adventure type.

Chernobyl is not old news. The world has seen only the beginning of the tragedy. The death toll is still rising. The diseases are growing worse. While no one has a viable plan for cleaning up the ruins of the reactor, radioactive fuel is slowly leaking into the ground and sky. There still exists the possibility of the remaining fuel reaching critical mass and exploding in an atomic chain reaction. Most horrifying of all, 40 other reactors of the Chernobyl type are still operating in Eastern Europe and the former Soviet states..

Mineral That Absorbs Radioactivity

What do you make of the reports of the fungi growing in the reactors at Chernobyl? They are reputed to be not only radiation resistant but to possibly be using radiation in place of sunlight. Must be cheaper than lead-lining if it works!

"Also, a robot sent into the reactor itself has returned with samples of black, melanin-rich fungi that are growing on the reactor's walls."
Then again, we know of biological processes very different from our own terrestial experience and location in the deep oceans where concentrations of toxins for most forms of life are the "food" and building blocks from growth.

I read elsewhere that the scientists took some to a lab and bombarded it with gamma radiation. It appears that melanin is changed by this and enables the organism to make energy. There was speculation that perhaps even humans might use melanin in this way. Doesn't that also give us protection from sun radiation? Can't remember my old biology now.

The Panspermia idea must if valid mean that space borne organisms would be resistant to radiation I would have thought. I read something of flora and fauna in the fallout zone surprising scientists by their adaptability in many cases. Cockroaches are famous of course.

Com on Red Lips, relax a bit, is it problem of yours, finally? If Ukrainians don't yell, why you living in your Canada, got to?

We will solve our problems without your help.

Just come and occupy yourself something more useful, for ex, write some comments to you friends-totalitarists on Russia.com's board.

Pcholka, I really advise you to buy the game and to dip to fantazy Chernobyl's world. It's even too much realistic.

After playing in Zone in the night I was waking up with thought I got to check my radiation level.

And those monster are great... you'll get fun shooting them. Mutant animals, zoombies, spirits, state soldiers, other stalkers... they have a real bloody zoo there.

The sens of the game is actually not just shooting but also looking and profitable trading artifacts so it's also a kind of stratedy.

Anyhow, if you like adventures, you'll get it, no doubts.
