Tree maker version --10

I have a problem with this Tree maker -I think it is my lack of understanding it.
Or not following instructions.
Have about 1700 family names on it.
It has stalled on me.a few times -where it notifys me that i have too many books in it.
I have printed the tree. and have found that --it duplicates some names.
How can I correct this?

I made a mistake of merging -a few families -How can I safely eliminate- the dates I entered. This may have triggered the duplication of persons -I would hate to start all over.
I may have to --I hope not!

I do not use this program, and its quite hard to understand
I asked in some toher places, but all i heard was back everything up and that doesnt help

My apologies for the late reply. I have searched thoroughly for the version and maker for the software you're currently using. Unfortunately, Broderbund no longer supports the Tree Maker software. They have instead, referred to this site for technical help and support: http://www.genealogy.com/help/index.html

Like stepanstas, i wish there was more i could do to help.
