How to stay more than 90 days in Ukraine?
Hi Everybody!
I am English with an English passport and my wife is Ukrainian. We live in UK but I am interested to investigate starting a small business in Ukraine. To get things started I would need to stay in Ukraine (we are here at the moment) more than 90 days. As I see it, there may be two ways, but so far I have been unsuccessful in finding out details of either option. 1. Some sort of business visa - what documents do I need to apply for one? 2. Some sort of temporary residency based on my wife being Ukrainian already. Some concise and clear answers would be very much appreciate on what to do The first person to reply with information resulting in my getting this sorted can PM me for my e-mail address and in future I would be happy to provide similar information to them about British visas - a subject I am expert on, since going through the process to get my wife residency in UK. Or any other advice I can offer. But please no general replies offering help with translators, accommodation, tour guides etc... With best wishes, Enjoying the sunny weather in Lugansk Dr Nick |

I read somewhere on the forum that if you invest 50,000 ( I think Euros but not 100% sure) you automatically get to stay for over 90 days... if you read through the threads you will find the post... a bit time consuming so maybe look on The Ukrainian Embassy website...

Get a private visa with multi entry, it'll be good for a year. If you decide to move there you can claim a permanent residency visa thru your marriage if it's more than 2 years.
The Ukrainian Embassy website for your area should explain it very well. |

Thanks for the comments so far.
Gotno: If I do e-mail "igor.goltsblat@gmail.com" who will I be contacting? 50K is a bit much for my company to pay and for this kind of visa, I was thinking more along the lines of 50 quid. One thing I can clear up is that the Ukrainian embassy website in London is no help at all here about business visas. It explains that UK citizens don't need a visa any more for regular visits ( up to 90 days in any 180). But doesn't provide any information about how to get any other kind of visa, or even that such visa's exist. Don't even bother to think about phoning them. To describe the staff a surly and unhelpful would be a complement. I have found out that becoming a permanent resident of Ukraine should not be so difficult for me because my wife is Ukrainian. However, this seem to me to be an excessive solution to the problem. There really must be a simple answer to this. Germany and UK do a lot of business in Ukraine. I am sure that these business people do not all have to become Ukrainian residents to stay in Ukraine more than 90 days to run the business there. I will investigate further from this side ( Ukraine) but I only have a week left. Cheers Dr Nick |
