Question ebay

I live in New York and I sold 4 video games on ebay to a buyer in the Ukraine. I shipped it Priority mail with delivery conf# from US Post Office. I mailed it on January 9th. to this day my buyer has not received it. I was told by the post office that the item might still be in customs. Is this possible? It's been 5 weeks now. Is there a way to track my package in customs? Is there anything else that I can do? Are my games lost forever or should I just be more patient?

Unhappy

Really it were problems at our customs in January.
We could not in time receive the goods from Denmark.
I regret, it is our problems.

Shipping is the worst way of sending anything to Ukraine. First you have to wait 2 or 3 month . ( 5 weeks are nothing). Second , a parcel will follow through Odesa customary. It is another painful history. They can simply steel all those games and you’ll know nothing. I have had such experience . The only way to learn anything is a good insurance ( then you can put questions to them).

The best way is air mail , MEEST … I think you still have time to be more patient with that shipping, but be ready to bad news.

shipping

I used the word "shipping" but the package did not go by boat, it went by air mail. So what is my time frame now?
Is there a way to track it if the item was sent by air mail? I have a delivery conformation number.

That’s much better. What did they say to you when you were sending a parcel ? I think a month and a half is normal. Sometimes it comes in 2 weeks , sometimes a bit longer. If by air mail , parcels usually follow thru Kyiv customary. Then they are delivered by local post service.
Does you client live far from Kyiv ? If so it can take some additional time.

Hoppe it doesn’t cost more than $ 200 , otherwise you’ll have additional problems.

I believe "customary" is "customs".

Was the package insured?

I haven't had trouble sending packages air mail to Kyiv, and it usually takes about 3 weeks. The recipient usually has to pick up the package at a local post office, and pay a small fee for the goods.

I have had problems with Meest in the past, (fraud) on my end, not the Ukrainian end, so I now refuse to use them.
