Greetings,
It saddens me, but once again I must defend
my Hungarian heritage. In a posting to John, on February 11th, under the topic of ****,
Lilly proclaimed palacsinta as part of her Serbian heritage. Everybody wants to muscle in on Hungarian cuisine, but this is too much. I think that Attila was a Hungarian, even though historians dont want to give us credit for him. They want us to start with
Arpad in the 9th century. So, for this posting we will start with Arpad. Not much is known about Arpad, but one thing is clear,
HE LOVED PALACSINTA. It was his favorite dessert. A girl that wanted join his HAREM,
had to know how to make palacsinta. It was a requirement. As a matter of fact, Arpad used to pick his favorite concubine for the week by holding a PALACSINTA COOK OFF. The winner
would go to the head of the line. Sometime
the cook off would result in a tie. In that
case they would have a f..k off. I guess it is fair to say that to Arpad a girls ability,
to make palacsinta was more important than
all other things. This has changed with
the modern day Hungarians. Anyway, from this story you can tell that palacsinta goes way back in our history. I reject all claims by anybody to make PALACSINTA a part of their
heritage. This includes the French.
