Welcome Louise.

I suggest you post your inquiry in the genealogy forum. We have a great crew there that can help you.

When you do post your inquiry, include appx time frames of immigration, place of settlement upon immigration, appx ages and whatever else you might know about them. What religion did they practice? Where did they marry? Is there any documentation of any kind ?

Names are not enough, especially a surname like Shewchuk, which is a very common Ukrainian name. Shewchuk is equivalent to Shoemaker in English.

Just as an example, there is a Juan Walchuk (manifest shows it as obvious error and reads Iwan = John) arriving via Liverpool, thru New Brunswick in 1908. There is a whole bunch of Walchuk immigrating to Canada. Some used border crossings into USA. The surname could also be transliterated as Walczuk as well ???

There is a Marya Filinski emigrating from Prussia (what would be Northern Poland today).
