Hi everyone!
I'm Kieven and personally i suggest to visit the next places:
1) Kiev-Pechersk Lavra (11century)
2) St. Sophia Cathedral (11century)
3) Andrew's Descent- one of the oldest descent in kiev
4) Baby Yar (Babi Yar is a ravine in Kiev, the capital of Ukraine. In the course of two days, September 29—30, 1941, a special team of German SS troops supported by other German units, local collaborators and Ukrainian police murdered 33,771 Jewish civilians. The Babi Yar massacre is considered to be "the largest single massacre in the history of the Holocaust".)
5) Two years ago in Kiev was opened a monument "Candle of Memmory" dedicated to victims of Golodomor (Golodomor - refers to the famine of 1932-1933 in the Ukranian SSR during which millions of people were starved to death due to Soviet policies). And underneath this monument a museun of Golodomor is situated, so its really interesting!!
SO, this is my personal 5 favorite places one should visit being in kiev!
Don't hesitate to ask more about Kiev and it's history, i will answer with a pleasure!
Regards,
Ira
