Suffix ‘ciuk’ ( in Ukrainian - þõë ) indicates belonging to a certain family or something else ( Pylyp – Pylypchuk - means someone from Pyplyp’s family )
- specific skills in craft , etc ( Koval – Kovalchuk , ëÏ×ÁÌØ – ëÏ×ÁÌØÞÕË - someone who is from a family of Smith or who has skills of a smith)
It doesn’t have any relations to Polish – ski . Ukrainian equivalent of it is – s’kyj ( male )
