There is so much to see and do in the fascinating country of Ukraine, that visitors may find it difficult to decide on an itinerary. Rather than rushing from one tourist attraction to another, many choose to explore Ukraine by means of its extensive railroad network, allowing them to enjoy the journey just as much as the actual destination. Railway travel in Ukraine is very reliable, comfortable, safe and relatively inexpensive, and in addition to linking all major destinations in Ukraine and its neighboring countries, the railroad network passes through many charming towns and villages which are well worth seeing.

The city of Balaklava is located in Crimea, Ukraine, and was once a small fishing village, near Sevastopol. It went from being a quaint inconspicuous village, to an ideal tactical location during the war and the Soviet period, to an independent city, that officially became part of the Sevastopol district in 1957. The quiet bay with its treacherous rocks are not the only attractions in Balaklava, as it is what is hidden under the rocks that makes visiting Balaklava a very fascinating and historically interesting destination.

Like most towns and cities in Ukraine, Buchach is a historic town that survived war and battles. With a population of approximately twelve thousand, Buchach is not a very big tow,n but the community is close knit. With its location on the Strypa River, the town is a beautiful destination to visit while touring Ukraine. It is quaint and surrounded by natural wonders. Located near Lviv, in the Ternopil Province, Buchach invites visitors to explore its rich history and discover the many noteworthy sights and attractions that it has to offer.
